hiways around Flagstaff have been shut down. I-17, I-40 plus all the smaller roads have been shut down. We have a bit over 3 feet of snow and it is still snowing.
Yesterday we had about 2 feet of snow and it quit snowing and warmed up a bit to 34 or so. They it started snowing hard again. During the warm spell some of the ground level snow melted, then with the new snow we have 3 or 4 inches of water with 3 feet of snow on top of it.
Several years ago I bought a commercial snow blower to handle the heavy snow which it normally does very well. Late yesterday I got it out to move some of the snow so we could get out and get to work. The problem is the snow blower weighs about 300 lbs and sinks down into the lower several inches of water and bogs down.
I may try again to get to the truck in a bit but it may just be a snow day.

I'm on I40 now heading west from Amarillo.

said the roads in town were rough, mostly due to all the Phoenix folks up to play in the snow. It is illegal to park on the side of the road to play in the snow but they do it anyway and quite often the cars are well out in the road causing lots of problems. With the snow packed into 2 or 3 inches of solid ice it is almost impossible to stop if you have to. You just slide toward the ditch.
We'll get into work tomorrow, no matter what. The snow has stopped for a while, hopefully it will clear up in the morning. I dug all the vehicles out this morning, and Kase sorta cleared the drive getting out. Our driveway is 65 yards long and with 3 feet of snow plus the ice under the snow we end up doing the 65 yards sideways.
