They are wide and relatively heavy for caliber, especially compared to a Kel-Tec P32. Less so compared to a 1903 Colt. The extra weight does bleed off some recoil impulse and the fat receiver offers more to hold on to.
Hard to argue with the utility of the tip-up barrel. In an absolute pinch, it can be loaded one at a time.
I had to put a little polish on my Tomcat feed ramp to improve reliability with some HP bullets. Put some appliance white paint on the front sight followed by a layer of hi-viz orange.
