I was talking to Steve Hornady a while back and

doing my usual whining about something or other. I think it was about the 405 brass being scarce and I had 9 or 10 of my proprietary cartridges based on the 405 case. Steve told me to hang on and he would call me right back. In just a few minutes Steve called back and said he had a big batch of 405 brass in their warehouse and if I wanted them he would make me a good deal on them. I asked him how many rounds he had. He said right at 20,000. I said I'll take them and the rest is history. Steve gave me a decent price so I passed that decent price along and within about 5 or 6 weeks all 20,000 rounds were gone to some happy homes.
In another situation I called Steve to get a couple of boxes of their 375 caliber Dangerous Game bullets. I told Steve I was heading to Africa in about 3 weeks and needed some 375 caliber bullets. He again told me he would get right back with me. He called back in a few minutes and he was a bit disturbed. He said his African hunt was in about 2 weeks and he planned on using the 375 Ruger and to his amazement there was no 375 Ruger ammo in their warehouse. He then checked and there were no 375 caliber Dangerous Game bullets in stock either. Now we were both up the old creek without a paddle between the 2 of us.
He called back in a few minutes and said one of his employees had almost a full box of the 375 caliber bullets at his house and he was on his way to get them. In a lickety split minute or two Steve called and said his employee had 41 bullets and if it would help he would send me 20 for my African hunt. I was really relieved as I am sure Steve was and thanks to Steve I had a successful hunt.
If any of you have not tried Hornady's Dangerous Game bullets, take my word for it. They just don't get any better. And as far as the kind of person Steve is, again, they don't get any better. And the fact that Steve was heading to Africa hunting dangerous game with the 375 Ruger should tell you something about the caliber.
Thanks to this forum I have found friends I would never have met without it. I have been blessed way beyond what I deserve thanks to you Misfits on here.
