To keep most of my sanity I very seldom read the
on-line stuff put out by every person that can type with more than one finger. The NRA, for all the great stuff they do for gun owners, seems to love to put out reams of stuff written by so called "gun writers". Most are raving about how great one gun or another is and that every red blooded gun lover needs to have at least one in his safe. I am positive that these gun writers get an erection reading their own swill being that much of this stuff is written by these gun writers who have never even held one of the guns being slobbered over.
Today I got several articles written by different writers, all NRA articles, each one a bit different and under the label of the gun magazines name. I normally scan over each article not expecting to glean anything out of it, mostly just the writer telling how he used to be a Green Beret and spent several tours in downtown east side Chicago.
But this one article actually got me saying "thanks for telling the truth".
Over the past 2 years gun writers have been slobbering over the 350 Legend telling us morons how the new 350 Legend was the best cartridge ever developed (actually stolen) and was great for long range monsters that previously were only taken with S&W's 500 or 460 or that Reeder guy's 510 GNR.
Now this writer actually went out of his way to tell the truth in this little paragraph about the 350 Legend. I may send him a $50 gift card to Starbucks (that should buy him an extra large coffee).

Did you catch that last line? How's that for telling the truth. I have no idea who this gun writer is but now I know there are 2 honest gun writers in this country, my good friend John Taffin (AKA Amigo #1) and the whositt that wrote this article.

Now I don't have to retire my S&W Model 27 or my fairly rare 357 Magnum Redhawk or my Dan Wesson 357 Super Mag, or my Montana Hunter in 356 GNR. The reputations of my babies is secure knowing the 350 Legend is "intended for short range deer hunting". Thank you Lord.
