Reeder Custom Guns - Any of you Misfits know about EMP protection?

I am a frustrated old man prepper.
What can you economically do to protect your stuff (appliances cars,electronics,etc from an EMP problem?

Operated our sensitive communications equipment inside a mesh cage to protect it from emps. Like a Farraday cage on steroids.

I’m pretty sure I fiirst heard about those in electronics school in the late 70s.
In the early 80s I worked at a place and we were all excited about getting an HP mini computer that had its own room. Well it wasn’t working right and if you looked out our windows you could see a massive radio tower, somebody figured out this was causing the computer problems so we lined the room with copper mesh,I can remember guys soldering all the seams together.
