a bit too far and is rubbing on the cylinder or it is the wrong screw. It should be the short screw. At least that is what it looks like to me.
I THINK THAT IS A GROOVE ON THE CYLINDER

Ruger showed in the first release a few days ago none of the cylinders had that 3rd line, just the 2 rings at the rear of the cylinder. Then a new release this morning showed 6 or 7 guns and one had a ring there and it wasn't the magnum cylinder. Maybe for a few extra bucks they give you a scratch on the cylinder. What made me think it was a scratch and not a groove was we get guns in quite often with a scratch in that spot where when they take the gun apart for some silly reason they put the wrong screw that is slightly longer in the front of the trigger guard and it leaves that scratch like that from rubbing on the cylinder. But who knows. I just work here. I don't know diddly.
I WAS LOOKING AT THE WRONG END.

if you look close you can see a very small tip of the screw sticking up in the front of the cylinder. If that screw is tightened too much or the wrong screw is put in there it will make that line on the cylinder. It will be just an ugly scratch not the nicer deeper grooves they put in the rear of the cylinder.
Look at the first pic you posted and you will see that line

is just a scratch and is just above the screw. This is giving me a headache.

I think Ruger should have put the effort into producing

producing Marlins. I can see the need to complete with the inexpensive 22lr Wrangler. If I wanted a dual cylinder gun I would get a single six. Just my negative dos centavos as im stuck on the sofa with pneumonia.
The Wrangler is probably in a totally different plant than

the Marlins. So producing the Wrangler shouldn't have any effect on the production of the Marlins. Even if it were in the same plant the equipment to produce the Wrangler would be completely different than that equipment that produces the
Marlins.
