What would be required to mshe such a gun legal? Paper work as well as tax fee? Or is it not posible?

You would need to fill out the paperwork to make it a Short Barrel Rifle and pay the $200 tax.

your paperwork to go thru, take that stock off. Right now as the gun is shown, it is illegal.

You would need to fill out a form 1, submit it with a $200 payment and then wait. And if approved you would then need to engrave the receiver with your information and then you would be able to mount the stock on it and then have fun with your new sbr. I have thought about doing this as well but haven't gone thru with it yet.
