Several years ago Jim Taylor turned me onto them and invited me. I was able to meet so many very nice folks that I've become friends with. They meet at a prepared shooting range in the hills of west AR. The shoot lasts two days and ends with a dinner and raffle. I've only been able to attend the shoot on Saturdays, but it sure is fun.

This year Jim was unable to attend but I talked Stonecold (Robert Cavenaugh), and his wife Georgia, into attending the shoot with me. Jason Freeman attends to much of the online organization and arrangements, it was good to see him. He had by-pass surgery a while back. Jared Schmidt also attends and never lets me down bringing something cool I've never seen before. Both occasionally post here and check it out often. I got to shoot Jared's Turkish 1887 Mauser in 9.5x60R! He painstakingly crafted the .385" bore ammo from scratch. Rob Leahy of Simply Rugged holsters was there too! It was a very good time.

Everywhere I go folks ask me (us this weekend) if we are an employee of Reeder Custom Guns, no, I'm an ambassador. lol I only brought (10) or so Reeder Customs with me this year, Stonecold brought 3-4 himself. We had the "Reeder Table" as usual. The Reeder customs are highly handled and many shot at the event, everybody comes to see us. It's like the coolest Gunshow you ever saw, only you can turn around and shoot them! Good times of gunplay and fellowship.

It was a lot of fun for sure. Thank you for the invitation. There is a lot of very nice folks at this event. I really enjoyed meeting Rob Leahy. I bought my first Simply Rugged holster from him when he was still in Alaska. We got home about noon today so it wasn't a long drive for us.

I've got a near perfect...

non-attendance record, only spoiled by the September 2004 shoot in Athens, TX when it so happened that a quick trip north for car parts to rebuild our vehicle coincided with a chance to swing down to TX for the shoot. It's been going on for almost a quarter century now and it's great to see folks gathering year to year. Jason's done a great job of wrangling the shoot and is a major factor in keeping it going. Thanks for sharing the pics!

IT's fun to show up with different stuff

and have people excited to get to see, handle, shoot it! Gary's advertising is well known and coming to a place with a dozen unique examples on one table is over the top to them. They want to know about the proprietary calibers and the special features. Oh, to have another 20 yrs. to pursue it all, and the time. Life gets in the way. But you need to seek fun to the max when opportunity arises.

That's why I'm really gunning (pun) for the 2023 HHC in late September. Be there, or be square.

we probably won't have as many custom guns

on display this time as Kase, Robert and I are flying, so hopefully the regular Misfits will make up for it and fill up a table or two with them.
