It's a 6 1/2 length barrel, original action, factory grips, serial number 40-222xx... I bought it from a friend of mine that worked in a gunshop in Seattle at least 20 years ago... obviously fired but other than that in excellent condition.

I will give you $500 for it.

That gives me a good idea of what it's worth. My friends Father gave an identical Ruger to his grandson but it was stolen before the grandson could collect it. My friend wants to buy it and send it to the son "in place of the lost gun"...
My friend asked me what it would cost to buy the gun.... frankly, I'll probably simply give her the gun... Make everyone happy that way....
What is the best way to ship a handgun to Alaska? Of course to an FFL...

Is your friend closer to Fairbanks or Anchorage?

If Fairbanks, I can recommend an FFL for you to get in contact with.

He lives near the Anchorage airport...

He works for the Alaska Marine Ferry System...
We may fly up there to visit the grandchildren, etc.. and, if we do that, I can simply bring the gun myself in my checked luggage. Have a local FFL do the paperwork.

the gun has to go FFL to FFL and the shipping FFL can

ship the gun to the other FFL by air to Alaska.
