It don’t look too used, so it makes one wonder. The New Frontier was out then too. Lots of work to get some adj. sights. I dunno. Second Gen guns usually do need some tuning don’t they.

they don't say anything about it on the post or answered questions. It would be interesting to find the story on it. I might even ask myself, just to find out why they think Skeeter had the work done, and by exactly who. I don't think Skeeter was a Gunsmith himself, the was too busy with other matters in my view.
You are right, it's a little fishy. Now if it was a .44 Special.... it would add a slight more credibility.

Skeeter did an article for GUNS "Rigging Up For Sixgunning" describing than normal things most of us do on our own to make our sixguns perform a little better. And over the years he had many articles of custom sixguns done for him by custom gunsmiths BUT he was not a gunsmith himself. I also have seen way back a pair of .44 Special Single Actions which were described as being custom made by Elmer Keith. If you ever see a sixgun described as customized by me you can bet it was customized for me. I can do the minor things but nothing major.

I asked the fellow about the history through GB. Not sure if he will answer. Also Skeeter didn’t live in Atlanta, GA as far as I knew. It was TX and AZ, right? I could see one of his gunsmith friends residing there. I’ll give the fellow benefit of the doubt since I’m not bidding anyway. I’d love to know his story.

For an aged gentleman with a large estate hoard of firearms he was selling. The broker had no insight and said the owner had the records on all the large inventory. Personally, I’d want some concrete verification, there does not seem to be that information freely offered.

overseas) a lot of my southern friends had names like Skeeter, Bubba, Booger, Gator, Shitbird and so on. Another possibility here is whoever has that gun was told it was customized by a gunsmith in Atlanta named Skeeter and he assumed it was Skeeter Skelton.
