I wanted to see if they just happened to have a S&W 637 or 638 in stock. Nope, a few M60 and a 642 hammerless (which I am not personally interested in), I think I noted one Ruger poly-snubby of some sort. One Taurus with the hammer factory ground flush too.

But they had at least 20 semi-auto handguns to each revolver! My goodness the wheelguns are in short supply around these parts, SA or DA. I remember a gunshow last year too, nobody was looking at wheelguns, just black semi-autos. Thankfully in my home safe it's just the opposite.

Way out West in MT

One would think that big caliber revolvers would rule. Except for ruger wranglers it’s getting harder to find any revolver let alone one that starts with a 4. For backcountry packing the Glock 20 is seen the most. That 10mm is a sweet round but I prefer something a lot more powerful when you come up on a griz in the BOB (backcountry).

I sometimes leave my fancy Reeders at home

for a common (relatively) carry gun in the woods for large critters, I like the 4" Redhawk. I got one a few years back from a friend in .45 Colt/ACP. They have a round butt frame and I found it feeds full moon clips full of .45 Win. Mag. just fine. That is handy!I also changed the sights to high visability versions. Not a bad rig for me and is more robust than my S&Ws.

Gary's 6" smoothed up versions are the very best of all worlds that I've handled. .44 or .45, whatever larger caliber, is of less importance to me. I just need at least 1/2 oz. of a slug.

Yes even though it's heavy I carry a ruger alaskan with 45 colt +p in the chambers at all times. Can't wait to get my 475 bisley from Mr. Gary. I don't think I will ever by a semi auto....

One of our distributors told me the manufacturers

are building what the buyers are looking for which is concealed carry guns. He said the revolvers have been put on the back burner for now.
We have several new full custom revolvers coming soon. That might interest some folks.
