for a common (relatively) carry gun in the woods for large critters, I like the 4" Redhawk. I got one a few years back from a friend in .45 Colt/ACP. They have a round butt frame and I found it feeds full moon clips full of .45 Win. Mag. just fine. That is handy!I also changed the sights to high visability versions. Not a bad rig for me and is more robust than my S&Ws.
Gary's 6" smoothed up versions are the very best of all worlds that I've handled. .44 or .45, whatever larger caliber, is of less importance to me. I just need at least 1/2 oz. of a slug.
