Never saw one of these before… he has two!

know the factory rep you can get those special guns. For years one of our hunting buddies was the Smith rep and we would get some of the special guns. We had 10 of the special 3" snubbie 44 Magnum and put the first out in a series of 5 guns. We did this twice over a period of a year with the second 5 being totally different from the first series of 5. We engraved them and numbered them 1 thru 5. Here are a couple of them. The pictures are 35 years old and not the best quality but cameras weren't the best back then either.

We got a batch of the 6" Smith model 29 with the 4 position silhouette sight also. I have had several people tell me they never made them in a 6" gun but we had at least 5 as we always ran them in series of 5 guns.

Back then we also had a good friend in Seth Wesson, Dan Wesson's son. When they came out with special Dan Wessons we would get a batch. We got 10 of the Dan Wessons in 41 Magnum and all consecutive serial numbers. We also got a batch of the DWs in 45 Long Colt. These were the 8" full underlug stainless models. Great guns. We also got 5 of the first batch of the Alaskan Guide Guns in 445 Super Mag. They had the 6" barrel that was actually a 4" barrel with a built in comp inside the last 2 inches of the barrels. They had the black titanium finish. I shot my first Water Buffalo with mine. Later on DW changed the Alaskan Guide gun and the second version didn't look the same as the first run. All my guys that worked for me got some great deals on special Dan Wessons and Ruger Redhawks. The 8" Dan Wessons in 45 Long Colt were some great guns and I don't think I have seen any of them other than the ones we sold.

We also got several of the first 375 Super Mags with the lightweight barrels. I haven't seen any of these since then.

We also got 15 Ruger Redhawks in 41 Magnum as the distributor was closing them out due to them not being popular. Our distributor called and asked me if I wanted any Redhawks in 41 Magnum. I told him yes and he said they had almost 20 of them to move out. I told him I would take 15 and of the 15 I think we rechambered 10 of them in 41 GNR.
Here are 2 of the new 5½" 41 Magnum Redhawks, chambered in 41 GNR. A few of them were the 5½" blued Redhawks also.

More recently we got 5 of the new Smith 657 41 Magnum in the 7½" barrel model. I wasn't expecting 5 guns but I had told our Smith factory rep I would take at least 5 of any special series of guns that they came out with. I got 2 in one day and then the other 3 a day or so later. We sold 3 on here and I kept the other 2. If all goes well I will be using one of them at the HHC in September chambered in 41 GNR.

We got quite a few special run guns while our shop was in Florida. Kase just reminded me of several other special series of guns we received during that time but I will get to them later.
