What animals are you hunting for at the HHC?

With some notice Alan can deliver. Finding one that is uniform or crazy to suit you is a personal choice. Every one is different.

This was a target of opportunity but I liked the uniform horns and didn't need all that mass. I .44'd it with my Reeder custom carry gun. I've shot several critters with it as it just seems to be at hand when I find I need to shoot something.

I think this beast now graces the fireplace in the new Lodge at Wilderness. I still think it's bad Ju-Ju, we'll keep calling it blonde. If it were albino, I'd clear out of the area.

exotic sheep know to man so we decided to go for the unusual sheep. Here are 2 of our 4 horns.

We also ran across a 3 horn sheep. He had the 2 side horns and one top unicorn horn.

If you want something hard to put down, the Nilgaai is one of the toughest. I shot one thru the shoulders with my 450 GNR, broke both shoulders and he still hopped on his hind legs right at us. I pitched the Contender down and pulled out my Grizzly in 45 Win Mag. I hit him twice with that before he gave up and rolled down the mountain. At this point he had been hit with the 450 GNR in the Contender and one shot with the Grizzly in 45 Win Mag and right after this second shot with the Grizzly he gave up and rolled down the mountain.

But if you want something that will gladly stomp you into a brown puddle the Nilgai will do it.

Another that has a foul temper is the Watusi bull. They don't like us and will let you know real quick. They are real big with a lot of meat for the freezer. This guy was in the corn field and took a lot to put him down.

If you want a lot of meat for the freezer, just hunt one of the Bison bulls, or even better a young Bison. They can be a real easy hunt or if you hit him in the wrong spot it can go on for days. I have taken 5 or 6 Bison and none have been any problem to get down but as always bullet placement is the priority.

Alan always has a lot of unusual critters there if you want to hunt something that not everyone has. Some of these for instance..
















This Watusi came at me with bad thoughts in his head. I put a round from the 429 GNR at his feet and he decided he needed to check on something else. Kase decided to go have a long talk with him and persuaded him to be a bit nicer.


If you have wanted a nice bull elk but can't handle the $20,000 for a good one, Alan usually has a herd of them there at a whole lot less money. They also make good eating.

Or if you want something really unusual look hard for a Muntjac, also called the Chinese Water Deer, the little deer with horns and fangs. They are hard to hunt as they are maybe 15 lbs. But they make a great trophy full mounted.




Or if you are looking for a good hog, this is the place for you.
















Also all Kase's critters were taken with a custom 378 GNR Encore or a custom Dan Wesson in 445 Super Mag. My critters were all taken with the 41 GNR in a custom TC or a custom 429 GNR revolver except the big Watusi bull taken with the 510 GNR revolver.
