Shootist Holliday. I sure do enjoy spending time with an old friend. I don't remember not knowing Jim. He has been a good friend and hunting buddy as long as I can remember. He is heading down to Tucson to see another good friend, Paco Kelly.
This is why I always tell folks that if you have a good friend that you haven't seen in years, make it a point to contact them. I also try to keep in touch with John Taffin, part of our 3 Amigos to make sure he is doing well.

In the last few years I have lost several good friends like Puffy (Jason Parr) and more recently John Linebaugh. I had a trip planned to see John but kept putting it off and had planned on spending the last couple of years at the HHC with Puffy. Now it's too late. So if you have a good friend that you haven't seen in a long time, give them a call or go by and see them. None of us are promised tomorrow.

and that`s a long time ago. Never thought he would leave... It`s so, so sad.... Do what you have to do (short of robbing a bank) to enjoy....

I have lost 4 very good friends in the last year. 3 of them to agent orange related cancer. There ought to be a panel of the wall for them. The Nam killed them 50 years later

There are quite a few really good friends that I haven't seen in a couple of years and the HHC is the best way I know to keep in touch with old friends. Several of those good friends are in their 70s and getting older every day. I mentioned Puffy last week. There was also Ray Massey, an old friend for many years. Remember Squirrely? He was also a good friend, maybe not as long as some but still a good friend. There are others that are still around that I look forward to spending some time with. Larry Farley has been a hunting buddy since the late 60s. Many a groundhog has met it's maker with one of us behind the trigger. The list of close friends that usually show up for the HHC is not long but you guys know who you are. Here are some of you.

I wasn’t able to attend the HHC in 2017 due to limited vacation time. But, I did drive down Friday evening and spend the day Saturday. Little did I know that Puffy would pass away a few days later. So glad that I got to see him

over a period of maybe 10 years. If there was ever a man I considered my brother, it was Puffy. My only regret was I didn't spend more time with him.
