All the 4473 does is gets firearms out of a dealer’s inventory. They can come to your house and all you have to say is “I didn’t like it and sold it”. You are not responsible for keeping any information. The ATF has pressured dealers not to accept mailed in sales from non FFL. Although there is no law (that I have seen). You can walk in off the street and sell it to a dealer. Same thing, he records who he got it from in his record book. Same either way.
For years they have wanted to ban private sales and force FFL only transactions. That would make steeling away 4473’s a lot more valid concern.

It's against the law in VA for me to sell, give or loan a gun for any reason. A true pain in the ass.
Straw purchases are illegal, but would be

a challenge to prove in court unless one of the two turned on the other. They changed the last revision of the 4473 to combat straw purchases in particular. Interestingly, if you have a medical Maryjane card you cannot truthfully fill out the 4473 correctly. It's federally against the law to use it period go the federal 4473 would be a got-ya. Again who would challenge it in court... right Hunter?!
You cannot work for our utility company and poses a valid Maryjane card, its company policy.
Seems really odd to me

Why get the IRS involved if this is just a 4473 issue?
If they had something on him why let him stay open?
Money laundering? Tax evasion?
There is more to this story.
Yes, it doesn't pass the smell test.

and saw no issue. So we will see what comes of it. Everyone I know who has dealt with them as had no issues and they followed protocol.
