A few years back I was reading about D.B. Wesson

(The Wesson of Smith & Wesson) and his hunting with the new 357 Magnum in Alaska. With this new 357 Magnum with an 8½" barrel he took large bears, moose and all kinds of large game. Now this is with a 357 Magnum, a cartridge most guys think is only good for gay chipmunks, yet D.B. Wesson of Smith & Wesson back in the 1930s took large dangerous game with it. He did it by putting the bullet in the right place. Shot placement. And he did it using 1930s 357 Magnum ammo that was quite a bit less powerful than the 357 Mag we have today.
After thinking about this we decided to put out an Ultimate 357. A few years back we built 10 of them on the Ruger GP-100. They sold as quick as we could get them made. But I still wanted something a bit more like what Wesson hunted the large dangerous game with.
Recently I thought why not build something closer to the gun that D.B. Wesson used to take large game but make it a stronger single action with special features and build 10 of them. We have the facilities and ability to do so, so let's do it.
Here is that gun, serial number 001. It is a very special 10½" barrel full custom 357 Magnum. With the longer barrel you get all the power the cartridge has. The gun has had the Positive Performance Package and is slick and accurate. It has the interchangeable blade front sight with the gold bead blade. That small gold bead lets you put the bullet exactly where you want it whereas the black standard blade is sort of hit or miss, literally. It has the Bisley Gunfighter grip with a set of European walnut grips made for it. It is two toned with the gripframe stainless. This is the part of the gun mostly handled so let's make it stainless to keep the rusting away. It has an extra beefy unfluted cylinder for those hotter hunting loads. The cylinder has dangerous game engraved on it. It has the Belt Mountain base pin for a tighter lock up and the utmost in accuracy. The barrel is heavier for even more accuracy potential. The gun is finished in our deluxe Black Chromex finish with stainless small parts. Now, you ask, how do we carry this monster. Easy, he said. We install sling swivel studs on the bottom of the barrel and bottom of the gripframe and fit a short soft nylon sling that makes for easy carrying plus getting it into play quick when you need it.
For you guys that hunt deer and hogs this is the perfect handgun for you. And at a decent price too. I went over our costs to build this beauty and it should run around $2450. I have it priced at $1995 and I plan on only building 10 of them and each one will be marked with the series number. I have 2 of my guys set to build these guns so I hope to have the number 002 ready in 4 weeks. And approximately 4 weeks for each one after that. Remember there will only be 10 of these beauties made so don't diddle around. This would be the perfect gun for hunting hogs in the HHC in September. 928-527-4100 for this gun or to order number 002.

[Methinks methinks you were testing me with that "8-1/2" barrel length. The originals were 8-3/4" and were cut back to 8-3/8" to fall within the NRA distance between sights which really makes no sense but they did it. Beautiful sixgun you have with #001!!

That is a gorgeous firearm Gary. I have Eric’s 357 Mag by DW, and a 44 Mag. Love them!
