Have you guys noted the asking price of grips lately?!
I have found a few S&W for sale reasonably with Pachmayr grips or Hogue rubber on them. I think what some folks are doing at removing the factory wood stocks, replacing them with rubber and then after the fact selling (or trying to) the factory stocks for $200+! Some fancy stock maker's work, that have moved on, are crazy high asking prices. I've always found Colt grips on anything but the 1911 and SAA to be horrible, and I'm not in love with S&W coke-bottles either, but just try to buy some! Or even figure out what is the correct grip model. Some Colt's had 2-3 different grip frames for the same model. It will make you pull your hair out. But it can get you a bargain wheelgun too if the price is adjusted a bit for the deletion of factory wood.
It certainly makes custom grips like what GNR produces a bargain.
