One of the misfits (Steve) just returned from a long hike in “the Bob” to see the Chinese wall AGAIN. His starting point was the trailhead in Augusta MT. These pictures were sent to me from a friend in Augusta. They were taken while Steve and family were hiking. limited grizzly hunting around Yellowstone park in Mt, Idaho and Wyo

The Grizzly's have already opened their season on us

might be on the small size for protection (even with 15 round magazine) for a "big" bear.... Imagine that big boy charging you.... I don`t think some of these people have seen a big bear up close, even in a zoo ;-) [image]

I know it would be hard hard to hike carrying a long gun, I wouldn't.
So, if you're hiking in BIG bear country what's going to be on your side?

Biggest handgun I have right now is 44 Mag so it would get the nod ,even though it's smaller than I would want.

2 feet and he got so mad he ran off into the willows and I had to go in to have a long talk with him. Thank the Lord he had died by the time I got to him. Both rounds had gone all the way thru him, 440 grain hard cast bullets at 1300 fps. That was in Alaska a couple of years back. George Faerber was my guide. The bear was close enough that when the bullets hit him a spray of blood spurt out and covered the gun. I had a scope on it (which was of no use at all at that distance) and the scope front lens was covered with blood.

the only one that mentions limited grizzly hunts at this time is Wyoming. and its damn near impossible to dig out any other info on it.

killed around the West Yellowstone area last week. The article went on to talk about the protected grizzly had reached numbers that was going to allow the states surrounding Yellowstone Park to have a limited hunting season on park bears. I have a friend who lives in Wyoming get access to hunt a park buffalo last season in Wyoming. I will check the news source and see if the F&G knows anything about their claim. I believe the news reports about like the Biden campaign promises

Man was out at his his place in Choteau last week. Spent one day down in Agusta, he's no hiker though ha ha.
He's had a few grizzlies up at his place , gets them passing through on his security cameras.
