Is the Rossi RS22 a good 22?

Back around 1978 wouldn’t shoot a group smaller than 2” at 25 yards with any ammo I tried. Ended up giving it away. On a whim bought another recently that I am going to put in a tactical stock and add a threaded bull barrel to along with a suppressor. Already dropped in a new trigger assembly. Hopeo I can get better groups out of it.
