I wonder why there have been no (to my knowledge) double barrel pistol caliber carbines?

I understand that in the case of double-rifles, the production costs of regulating the two barrels is time-consuming and expensive. Thus, double-rifles are not ubiquitous.

However, even the most economically priced double barrel shotguns (especially O/U) have sufficient accuracy with slugs out to typical slug ranges of 50-100 yds.

A PCC is intended to shoot no further than that. Indeed, many folks enjoy the many pistol caliber inserts for 12 gauge.

TL;DR - I want a lightweight, 16", single-trigger SxS PCC in 357 magnum/44 magnum for sub-100 yard shots and HD.
