I think what disappoints me about today's gun shows

is the people running the shows and behind the tables are not gun people. Of all the people I have hunted with and shot with and been a friend to, none were the type of people behind the show tables. The people behind the tables were like used car salesmen, willing to do and say anything to sell their over-priced product. The last several gun shows I have attended have left me wondering why I even went in the first place. From the $15 I had to pay to park my truck, to the $10 to $15 to get in the door, by the time I reached the first few tables I felt I had already been screwed and wasn't expecting the rest of the show to get better.
I guess the main thing was after walking thru the whole show, which got worse and worse the more I walked thru it, at the end of the show I wonder why I came in the first place. I guess I was expecting something that doesn't exist these days. That being tables of exotic and unusual guns, older antique guns, guns that were what I grew up with and tables full of guns and the people behind the tables that were real honest gun people, not a bunch of shysters.
I am sure not all gun shows these days are the same as the last few I went to but it sure seems to be the norm rather than the exception. Maybe I have just out lived what gun shows were in my younger years. And that is a damn shame.
