I have been working at having all my Colt-style replica percussion sixguns fitted with Remington front sights as the Colts are so small and hard to see. I found out this morning I am about 150+ years behind. I always wondered about the stories of Wild Bill Hickok and how well he shot his 1851 Navies. I saw a picture this morning of the Hickok Colt from the James Butler Hickok exhibit at Cody Museum. It is fitted with a Remington-style front sight allowing him to dial it in perfectly for windage and elevation. He Did Not use Kentucky windage! Now I like to know how often he cleaned his .36s. It was said he shot them every morning and put new ammunition in them.
