We are now a bit less than a month from our HHC.

The HHC started back in 2005 and although the HHC stood for Handgun Hunter's Challenge it was not given that name for a couple of years. The first couple of years it was held in southern Texas and was held in the summer and called the Hot & Nasty Hunt. We had around 20 hunters at those first few hunts in Texas and it sure lived up to it's name. In fact the last hunt we had in Texas was officially called the 1st Annual Handgun Hunter's Challenge. And from then on it was held each year in Monterey Tennessee.

It was originally designed only for handgun hunters. Since then we have changed that rule so that anyone wanting to join us and hunt with us can do so with whatever firearm he wants. We have even had a few crossbows and an archery fan or two to join us.
The HHC was held twice a year when it first was moved from Texas to Tennessee. It was held in March and October. The March hunt wasn't very popular as it was during a time of weather changes and bad weather kept some folks from attending. I changed the twice yearly hunt to one hunt a year in 2011. We moved it to one hunt usually in the first weekend in October. The hunt has varied from the last weekend in September or the first weekend in October according to what dates were available at the lodge.
This year's HHC will again be held at the Wilderness Hunting Lodge in Monterey Tennessee. We will arrive at the lodge on Thursday September 21st, hunt that afternoon and hunt all day Friday and Saturday and then leave out on Sunday the 24th.
Right now we have 6 openings left for this year's HHC. If you would like to join us for the hunt, call Sandy at the lodge and sign up. Her number is 931-979-4050. Call her and join us for a great weekend of hunting and spending time with friends. Grab a friend or wife/girlfriend and sign up while we still have a couple of openings.
