I have something really special for you military buffs

We just picked up another estate and the old gentleman had a super 1903 military rifle. This rifle is an original U.S. Springfield Armory model 1903 MK 1 with a serial number of 1185255. It has NO import markings. It has the bomb mark on the barrel with the date 7-42 on the barrel. This rifle is damn near mint and I didn't try to hide any of the dings or scratches on the stock. The barrel and action are at least 90 to 95% with the stock just a bit under that. This is the best 1903 I have ever seen. Plus this rifle has the cut outs for the Pedersen Device that is shown in the pictures. Most of the 1903s I have seen are ragged that have been brought in in crates of hundreds packed on top of each other. The old gentleman said he has had this one as long as could remember and never shot it. He thought he got it from the NRA back in the early or mid '50s.
I looked up this rifle in a couple of collector books. One said at 80% it was worth $1800. Another said $2400 at 80%. And the prices went up from there with a 95% gun at almost $4000. And these were all with import stampings. So without the import stampings this gun is a better value for the collector. So this is a good one.
Looking at the values I decided to mark the gun at a lower decent price to move it out. I have the gun priced at $1495 and a great value at that.
