The youngest came running, telling me that there was an armadillo in the yard. We got out and started to sneak up on it when the 9 year old joined us. He had taken time to run and get his Red Ryder BB gun!
He put a sneak on the armadillo, got up about 20 feet from it and popped it with the BB gun. The armadillo jumped straight up in the air and then made a run for the safety of the woods.
I wish I had thought to grab my camera. That would have made a great video.
