a twice a year HHC, I am thinking about it. I am looking at the first of May, then the second HHC in the first of October. This is all MAYBE and IF, so don't count your chicks until they hatch. There are several things that can stop this from happening but I am seriously thinking about it. One every 6 months.
I would like your input on this, yes it is a good idea or no it is too many.

2X year

As much as I love the fellowship and fun, I will only be able to do once a year. But I imagine many would enjoy it twice.

I vote for 2x a year, that way if we can't make 1

We can make the other date.

I do not like influencing anyone even accidentally

As for myself, twice a year is difficult both with time and budget. The huge turnout of late, I feel, is driven by wanting to see Gary and the fear of both the vibe and event itself falling away. The 2x per year was keen, but dwindled for various reasons. It seems to follow that pattern. The annual event seems more likely to be a blockbuster for all. Just my personal thinking. But I’d love to have that same experience as much as possible. Time is shorter each year for all of us!

Fall hunt. For a few years I went twice a year when it was

offered. I enjoyed the Fall hunt the most. Spring is really tough for me mostly because of the distance.

I enjoyed twice a year.

But, being retired makes it easier for me to attend. I understand those still working have problems with getting the time off. WB had some good points for once a year. Whatever the majority decides, I won't complain.

A spring hunt would be better for me.

I think twice a year would have more overall hunters attending.

Spring hunt works better for me also.

may not be for everyone to make both hunts. It is so that those that can't make one hunt might be able to better swing the second hunt. This way you would have the option. If you could make both hunts that would be great as that allows me to spend more time with old friends.

One thing I want to stress here as I don't make a penny off these hunts. What I get is many of you bring guns to the hunts and leave them with me to customize and some folks buy the guns I have on display at the hunts. I just want to stress that I don't make money by booking the hunts, I make money by getting orders while I am at the hunt and by spending time with you when you place the order. That way I can spend the time answering the questions you might have. One benefit would be me taking orders from you in one hunt and bringing them finished to the second hunt. That is sorta my reasoning for the 2 hunts. Also my main guy Robert worked on several guns while we were there and fixed a few small problems. The benefit of that is getting a small problem taking care of at no cost to you. Larger problems were put in the gun cases and brought back here to fix whatever the problem was. This saves you the cost of sending your gun to me to fix and get back to you.

The hunt I am currently thinking about would probably be the first week in May or the last week in April. Remember this is a Maybe and an IF.
When we had 2 hunts a year several years back I saw a lot more new folks per year than the single hunt. The attendance would probably be smaller per hunt as most folks couldn't make or afford both hunts.
The fall hunt is a great hunt due to the weather being mild, whereas the spring hunt would be getting past a possible hard winter for some folks. The spring hunt would be a harder hunt as the animals would be more spooked and able to see the hunter with the trees bare. The weather would be cool and more like a hunt for deer or elk. So both hunts have their good points and no real bad points that I can think of.
I am just going over those points now before booking the spring hunt. The 2 hunts would be around 6 months between each one which is good in that it doesn't get folks burnt out.
I appreciate the comments and your reasons for opting for one hunt or two hunts. I will make my decision in a couple of weeks. I am no spring chicken so the two hunts might be rough on me. But I have Kase who can handle one or both of the hunts. Anyway, those of you that haven't posted your thoughts on the 2 hunts a year system, please continue to do so as that helps me make my decision.

I would be interested in either b/c I've never been on one

The last week in September 2024is perfect for me as the High Holidays are the first two weeks in Oct 2024. Third and fourth week in October OK as well. odd how that works out
