but contrary to what the gun writers say it is not an elk round. We have young hunters come in the shop here bragging about taking an 800 to 1000 yard shot at bull elk and then give some excuse why the elk didn't fall over. We had one young smart ass come in with his buddies and was bragging about his 6.5 CM saying it shot flat out to 800 yards. Colleen asked him where he saw that. He said it was on the internet. She pulled out the Hornady book showing ballistics and the bullet dropped 24 feet at 1000 yards. He tried to tell her that those were old ballistics and the new 6.5 Creedmoor was much better but he couldn't prove it.
It is a shame how some gun writers have completely filled young hunter's heads with pure bullshit.
