I recommend BLACK RANGE TALES by James McKenna. Chronicling Sixty Years of Life and Adventure in the Southwest.

Dealing mainly with New Mexico Territory which includes the State of Arizona, McKenna prospected and worked quite a bit of what is now the State of New Mexico, dealt with Indians and bandits, wild game of all kinds, struck it rich several times and blew it all several times. His book covers 1877 to 1937. I enjoyed it and am recommending it to those who love history by the people who lived it.
