of my Grandpa's old Ranch in Washington State. Or what's left of it.

The small white-looking building at the right was the old blacksmith shop. My Grandpa was a blacksmith as well as a farmer and rancher.

As a young kid I loved hanging around the blacksmith shop. There was so much interesting stuff in it! When I was about 13 I found an old Winchester .44-40 handloading tool half buried in the dirt. I kept it and later on replaced the pin that seats the primers and still use it once in awhile.

The only thing I have that I know was made by my Grandpa is a mattock that he forged in the shop. My Dad kept it and passed it on to me. You can see the hammer marks from when he forged it.

It will stay in the family and be passed along.

that has been a few years ago.

You had described the ranch and where it was on here so finding it was not really that hard. With my point of view I may have an advantage in seeing things.

That late summer one of the chemical companies that I did a lot of flying for had a BBQ that I went to. I went up a couple hours early and drove out to the farm. As I was driving down the road I remembered a picture that you had taken coming into the homestead, I stopped and took the same picture, as close as I could remember it. I hope I sent that to you also.

Anyway after all that rambling, I pulled into the homestead for a look around. From what you described I think I knew where the old car body was that you used to shoot at. Great country for long range handgun shooting.

I may just imagine that you don't have any idea how some of those bullet holes got in the fan tail of the old wind mill??

Though I was not the first. I just followed my Uncle and my Dad.

I am not sure if you sent this or if this is the photo you are referring to. It's been long enough that I have kinda forgotten.
