510 GNR and a 350 JSP in a 6" revolver

None of us, trackers, John the PH or me could see the lion as I took 3 shots at where we thought he was.

Finally the last shot must have grazed as he jumped up in the air doing a flip.

I knew where he was then so I hit him with the 378 GNR but it was not a killing hit as I never did see him completely in the grass and briars.

I just needed to get him out of the briar thicket so I could see him enough to put the 510 round in the right spot. At the 378 hit he ran off toward a small batch of trees.

I dropped the 378 GNR on the seat and using the 510 GNR I hit him once with the 510 as he headed toward the trees.


I followed him and shot him 3 more times when he got to the trees. There were 5 holes in him, 4 with the 510 and one with the 378 GNR plus a grazing shot across his forearm.
