Reeder Custom Guns - 350gr xtp performance or lack of?

I shot this boar quartering towards me at 10yds with the 350gr xtp at 1250fps. It rolled the boar over on his back and died. The skinner found the bullet just in front of the stomach next to ribs. I was surprised it didn't exit or mushrooms more. Is this bullet failure? What are you're guys opinion?

enough cavity for the bullets to expand .No doubt if you raised the velocity to 1500 fps you would get better expansion BUT I think a little deeper cavity would help .
I shot the Hornady 45-185gr XTP into wet newspaper at 1000 fps and got the same expansion as your picture shows and then I drilled the cavity .300" deeper and the bullet weight dropped to 170gr and got perfect expansion.

using my .41 Magnum and the 210 gr. XTP at about 1450. I have taken a lot of game with this load over 25 years and never had it fail.

About a 90 yard shot. The recovered bullet lost very little weight, hit in left side lung/high heart area, stopped under the hide on the right side. Made a bulge in the hide and I slit it and popped the bullet out.

I'd say 18 inches from the muzzle of the .41 ...

I was standing in weeds and grass higher than my waist, trying to get a picture of some pigs running past about 50 or 60 yards out. All I could see was tails and ears once in awhile. I heard something in front of me and looked through the viewfinder to see a pig running right at me. Maybe 8 feet away? I snapped a picture, pulled the .41 from the shoulder holster and shot the pig directly in the top of the head, pointing the gun almost straight down, as it was a foot or two from me.

a bone which caused the hollow point to close up a bit or it could just have been traveling at a slower speed that normally causes a hollow point to open. Nobody knows. The piggie is dead so you did a good job. Nothing you did would have caused that hollow point to close instead of opening.
