Reeder Custom Guns - James' mould.

I've had this MP-311-140 mould for a couple days now and have cast about 500 bullets with it.

This is the first MP mould that I have had the pleasure of casting with. Being brass and a four cavity mould it does get a bit heavy with the little 30 caliber bullet, but what it turns out is well worth it.

I think this is going to be a fantastic bullet for the 300 GNR. I shot 25 or so in mine as soon as I could check, size and lube them. Next chuck season the 7 GNR may get sidelined for the first outing or so in favor of the 300 with the new bullet.

The mould came with three different sets of pins for a 140 gr. solid, a 136 gr. penta point and a 133 gr. round deeper hollow point. The more traditional round HP is probable my favorite.

I may have to order one of these. Although I've always been told that possession is 9/10 of the law. James who? Never heard of him.

I doubt that a chuck could tell much difference between the solid and the hollow cavity

The load I shot out of the 7" 300 GNR was the 140 gr. solid, just because that is what I cast first and I really wanted to shoot it, and 17.5 grs. 4227. If anyone would like to take a guess I'd be curious to know also.

This is what my 100 gr. LBT bullet does out of the 300, and for a varmint bullet it's what I'm hoping to do with the MP bullet. A nose that comes completely apart. I get the same thing with my NOE bullet out of the 7 GNR.

Published TC loads. The bullets are lighter and you lose a lot more with the cylinder gap compared to a bigger bore. The top 120 gr. cast loads I shot were 1600-1750 fps range. I did blast some special 60 gr. JHP loads at near 2300 fps from the revolver.

I really did not have much of an idea. A SWAG would have been 15-1,600 fps.
