Scott, I bought John"s Black Widow back during the Obama years.

His wife had not died and while I have lost touch I am pretty sure they are both still alive and well.

He sold it and several other guns due to the downturn in the economy. Bantam books dropped him as paperback sales crashed with so few people flying at the time.

I think you may be confusing him with Bill Firman. Bill lost his wife, but has remarried and is doing well last I heard.
