add or article from Al Goerg. It chronicled a photo of a cast SWC bullet that had been fired. Obviously it was a softer alloy but it had bumped up and looked more like a flat tipped RN. As a youth with an Italian Remington Army copy C&B I remember mashing the crap out of the balls to get them to fit atop the full charge of FFFg. It distorted the balls that would be rounded on the back, flat rings around the outdide, and the muzzle end converted into sort of a wadcutter with round middle. Whatever the loading ram head looked like.

I never got that good of accuracy, but acceptable for an exuberant 15 yr. old. We did manage to kill one southern cottontail (tiny compared to a Jackrabbit) and one slow witted Red Squirrel. It hit a foot high and 6" to the left, but did it regularly. Maybe 3-4" groups at 25 yds., proportionally smaller as range decreased.

I'd love to go back and measure the bore and chambers. I have been wanting to buy an old vintage copy like I had (1976-77) and drill the top strap for a vintage Bushnell Phantom rig. What fun!
