Handgun Hunters Challenge May 2-5 These hogs and buffalo were taken on the HHC, The terrain in the background is at the same area we will be hunting. These critters were taken on one of our HHCs and you can see what kind of area we will be hunting in and some species of animals available there.































































As you can see there are 5 separate areas we hunt. One with open meadows and scattered trees around the edges. The second is a heavily wooded area where the hogs hang out. A third is thick brush with trees around the edges. The 4th is what we call the canyon. It is straight up and down with hogs in the bottom. And the last one is real thick brush with thick trees all around it and steep drop offs at the edges. All 5 of these areas are full of animals. Hunting is not extremely hard and other than the canyon or one other area the areas can be walked with no problem.

The animals you see in the pics are standard animals that can be found in any of these 5 areas but some animals like certain areas and we hunt those areas the first day.

Any good gun will do for these hunts. Some have been taken with crossbows while rifles and handguns are the most common. The guns you saw in the pics of Puffy with his 8 or 9 inch handguns have worked perfectly in any of these areas. you don't need a heavy magnum rifle. If you use a rifle any standard rifle like a 30-30 will be fine. In a handgun any caliber from a 44 magnum and up will do fine. Puffy shot his largest with his 510 GNR.
