I find it interesting, a small kit to stay out overnight away from shelter, in an emergency. Perhaps a hunting hike that you get lost. Something like that. A kit to habitually take with you that you do not really expect to use but really could. A huge difference if you might be afoot, rather than horseback or ATV.
I see these soda pop sized tent/shelters, cooking folding stoves, cups, knives, high calorie/protein foods, lights, fire starters. Stuff like that. What gun too?! A .22 revolver with a box of HP ammo might be a good companion.
How small a day/overnight pack could you put together. What if overnight turned into longer? How minimal would you want to go?
