Bustin' boards thrown up into the air. I was using an Uberti .45 Colt and the Keith 260 gr. SWC with 18.5 gr. 2400. It's been over 30 years since I lived where I could do aerial shooting and would not even try it anymore.

Using my 7 1/2" Ruger .45 I tossed the wagon wheel with my gun hand, then drew and fired and hit wheel. Paco snapped the picture just as I fired. In the photo the wheel has been hit. I always used full power .45 Colt loads doing this stuff.

This little Vaquero was built by Gary for 20 guys on the old Sixgunner.Com website. We ran a special for the first 20 to sign up. Here I am shooting some 300 gr. heavy loads from it. I later killed a nice Javelina with it during the Season.

I used to practice shooting left-handed, upside down. My Dad taught me that trick when I was young. He would use it to intimidate other shooters before a match. When I moved to Oracle, AZ and pastored a church there, I was invited to a members home for supper. Before we ate my wife was visiting with his wife and he asked if I ever shot a gun. I said I had shot a few times. So we went out back of the house and set up some beer bottles and backed off about 50 feet. He asked if I thought I could hit any and I said I would try. I put the gun in my left hand, upside down and broke 3 in row. He didn't say anything, just went back in the house and wasn't very talkative the rest of the evening.

You had a wonderful spot

for that kind of shooting. Any kind of shooting really.

Spent several summers in Coolidge and Winslow. Always enjoyed the desert.

On my Grandpa's ranch in your country is where I began

Still a good place for aerial and long range shooting. Sometimes miles between homesteads. Good dust for bullet impacts.

Yessir. I grew up thinking it was normal

to shoot 300 or 400 yards with a sixgun. I was amazed to find a lot of shooters who didn't think you could do that.

So true.
