Nissan and Ford are having terrible design and quality issues. Some of the V8 and 2.7 turbo motors are blowing like popcorn. Mechanics do not like the Triton motors. I've had one for 220K that is fine. I'd not change spark plugs but there you go.
Dodge Hemi's do not oil adequately at low rpm and are roasting cams. Fine at highway speeds. Chevy's that ramp down from 8 cyl. to 6, 4 etc are bad too.
Any CVT transmission is suspect. A new one is $7k and likely to swarm prematurely as well.
Hyundai and Kia car engines have timing chain issues and rack up the motors terribly. I'd not have one. Ditto BMW and Audi, their plastic chain tensioners and other varied plastic engine parts turn to brittle dust.
To pay so much for a polished turd is financially and mentally disastrous.
