Reeder Custom Guns - This Bear thing is not going to end well

Locally I've tried to float the information (on popular local media) not to interact or especially FEED the bear. It has now been seen at a local park where dozens of children play daily. If you SEE a bear, chances are high, he has already been watching you for some time. It's unusual for a bear to bee seen unless he does not care about it due to hunger or learned bad habits, like trash raiding. That might be his draw to the park.

If it gets to be a public issue I'd personally call in the bowhunters. Just me. We are not set up to "relocate" creatures. We are not Yellowstone, just dangerous hillbillies. I hope the bear meanders off to easier pickings. I'd not want the bear or anyone to get unduly injured.

fellow sitting on his front porch drinking a cup of coffee. A bear walked up to the porch grabbed the guy and dragged him into the bushes and had a nice breakfast. This was about 50 miles down hill from us.

Another was seen walking down the main street in another town again about 50 miles from here. And there was the bear Colleen hit in her truck a couple of years ago and he was about 3 or 4 miles from our house.

Bears are finding out that people make nice luncheons and a snack of the smaller children.

An older lady has been feeding a cinnamon colored sow and 2 cubs 5 or 6 houses down from us. The Game & Fish have told her to quit but she keeps on. One day she is not going to have enough food to keep these bears happy and they are going to have a full meal of her.

The bears are getting brave and are not afraid of people. We also have some wolves moving into the area. The game & fish folks say it is just one wolf that has strayed into the area but wolves never run one at a time. They are always in a pack and this could be a bad situation for someone.

I have gone to wearing a gun when I go out to feed the chickens in the evening. It is dark then and the chickens pose a nice snack for a bear and so would I, I guess.
