This is one of our Desert Thunders. The gun is chambered in 414 Super Mag. It has a 7½" barrel with the interchangeable blade sight system and the standard black ramp blade. It has a 5 shot unfluted cylinder in our satin Vapor Honed finish. The gun is a two toned gun with a satin Vapor Honed black frame and all else a satin stainless. The gun has our Magnum gripframe with a set of Black Corian grips. It has a Belt Mountain base pin for the utmost in accuracy. Shane wanted no engraving except what the government requires. Here is his new Desert Thunder.

I actually make .401 Winchester Self Loading rifle rounds from .414 SM cases. Basically the same round but I have to mod the rims into "semi-rimmed" cases to fit the magazines. Bullets are supposed to be 0.406-0.408" for Winchesters, not .410 like revolvers. I can't get too crazy with the loads or stray from the factory bullet weights as it is a "blow-back" action. I do not want to turn it into a "blow-up" version. lol

Elgin Gates was instrumental in it's origins for IHMSA. It is also called the 10.5x41R by the Euro folks. Plus it shoots .41 Special or .41 Remington just fine too. A neat custom.
