came in a few days ago. He shoots squirrels for the pot and he was not happy with the 22 magnum's performance. He said there was nothing left of the squirrel for the pot.
I have a CZ 512, the 22 Magnum semi auto rifle I take when I go prairie dog hunting. It is the most accurate rifle I own and functions perfectly no matter what ammo I use. I take 3 guns. A Savage heavy barrel in model 110 in 22-250, a Remington model 700 BDL in 22-250 Improved and my CZ 512 for the close up shots. The 22=250 is for the medium shots around 250 yards or so while the 22-250 Improved is for the shots way out there. The Prairie dog is about the size of a Coke bottle so they are not much of a target at $300 yards or so.

Like the friend that stopped by said it just blows the prairie dogs to small pieces. But that is OK with me. It is fun watching the other prairie dogs sneak out of their dens and grab a leg and pull the dead PD down into their den for dinner.
