Gary or anyone know about these 1911’s???
I know the Rock Islands are a good value, starting point.
Seems to be a lot of them out there.
Just curious.

I'm not Gary...

nor do I play him on TV. :-D But I've got a lot of contacts in the guniverse. The folk I know that have the Tisas tend to think highly of them, especially at that price point. I shot one in 10mm a couple years ago and found it to be a nice handling package. I hate picking up brass so don't see myself buying one, but that's not the fault of the build quality, just my preference for handguns with round magazines instead of bottom feeders.

I have toyed with the idea of picking one up ...

it's always good to have an extra and from those who have them I also have gotten good reports.

for the money. The Turkish forearms industry sure has expanded in both volume and quality range. They do some really nice shotguns. Their Hi-Power, 1911, and Beretta copies look to be good quality. I'm a bit skeptical of some of the long gun parts availability in the future. But that will always be a remote concern from a foreign gun builder. Some designs in-house are a bigger worry than a "clone" which might have an easier time adapting available parts.

I've been thinking of picking up 1 or 2 of

Them. One of the Tanker models more for everyday carry, and one of the 10mm models. The Yukon one has piqued my interest.

We have sold quite a few of them in our gun shop.

All that I have handled are made and finished well. They are a good value for the money, much like the Rock Island 1911. I don't see how a person could go wrong with one of them.

I do have one thing I don't care for

They have "borrowed" our Night Stalker series. We work hard getting a new series popular and then another company comes along and "borrows" it.
