You might as well laugh at irony...

It is a waste of time to try and figure things out, an impossible task. We have been studying Psalms in Sunday school. David was really heartbroken and perplexed at being on the lamb from the lunatic King Saul. He didn't deserve any of the trouble that befell him, and it upset him, even though he completely trusted God.

It was God's supreme will and he could not know it had a very important purpose. It was hardening him, tempering his cunning, patience, and endurance, while still showing him he needed to not depend on his own thinking but God's, through constant prayer. David wrote most of the Psalms (songs) to teach people and record how to maintain a proper relationship and always depend on God. He wasn't perfect, and all of his biggest troubles can be traced to his deviation to his own intellect while stepping away from God's direction. Some 3500+ years later it is still a blueprint for our living and all we need to do is follow it.
