It’s an experiment, helping (?!) a friend out

I work with a young man who is interested in the new AR deer seasons and trying his hand at handgunning! He bought the revolver years ago, A Virginian Dragoon made in the USA around 1976. It’s a .44 magnum, he has never shot it. In fact he didn’t realize it didn’t have a rear sight blade missing! I gave him a Ruger white outline blade and installed it.

Years ago I bought this B-Square mono-mount off EBay for like $7. I used it on an old bolt action .22 single shot for a while. It was made for a 10-1/2” Virginian. This gun is closer to 8”. I flipped the sight around and notched it to clear the ejector housing. A cheap China red/green dot stuck on to see if it has a faint chance. It’s fun anyway. We’ll start with some good .44 Specials.

Some misfits got their start with the beefy Virginian’s. They always have been pretty. I read they had some throating issues.
