It was essentially an elongated super magnum 9mm. When they discovered the states (some) had a .357 cal. limit bore size. Now bullet diameter is listed as .357! I’ve not slugged my barrel to see if it’s .355 or .357. I pulled a FMJ bullet and mic’s 0.354”!
Performance wise I loaded the 200 gr. RCBS cast RNGC ahead of my old tried and true .357 Maximum powder charge. They ran 2100 fps from a 16” AR barrel. Wow! It beat my old .35 Remington. I thought the capacity was greater than the Maximum but maybe I’m wrong. They sure zipped. Later I saw published data that had me overcharging by several grains!!!! But I’m still here.
The Ruger ranch bolt gun is a honeypot in .350 for the intended purpose. Whitetails inside 200 yds.
