I went out to put the chickens away. Chickens are dumber than a rock. They will stand out in a driving rain until you force them to go into the chicken house.
Anyway as we moved the chickens into the chicken house I heard crunching under my feet. I took the pocket flashlight and shined it on my feet and there was a frost on the grass. It wasn't a hard freeze or real hard frost but it was still a decent frost and it was only the middle of August. So we may have a doozy of a winter. The weather folks are predicting a warmer than normal winter but they may be wrong, as usual.
