Reeder Custom Guns - Favorite 480/475 bullet?

Looking for suggestions on a bullet for my 480 and 475 guns? Not interested in full-throttle loads, by any means. Thinking along the lines of 375-390s in the 480 and 400-425 for the Linebaugh? Appreciate your thoughts, experiences and opinions.

But besides kicking like the devil I saw no notable gain to me. The Lee 325 gr. FNGC was my favorite. Wide meplat for good impact and for 1100-1200 in the .480 or 1500 plus in the .475 it was great. A 350-355 would be about the same. The heavier bullets were good but really overkill for most. It’s a .475 hole in and usually all the way through.

[image] with my FA`s 475 shooting Buffalo Bore`s 420gr LFN ammo. I made mistake and wrote 425gr WFN on target. I could never duplicate that group today... However, this was in Florida, and I went on to use Hornady`s 400gr XTP factory load to take a water buff. I always remember after the shot, how the buff shook like he was zapped with electric current....

loading, It pretty much will handle anything around, perhaps a 375-400 for moose or a really big bear. We dont get to shoot Grizzly except in self defence, there was one shot today north of here by a couple of bow hunters, I think they were carrying 44 mags the way the news described it

Shot a whitetail doe at about 75 yards with it. She made a big jump and piled up dead. I hit her just back of the left leg. She was almost perfectly crossways from me. The bullet exited her right shoulder and left an almost 2" exit cavity.

I was pushing it about 1400 fps.

Favorite 480/475 bullet?

I shot a couple hogs with 400 gr. cast 1300-1400 fps

This three shot 100yd group was made

PS- the Buffalo Bore 420gr LFN had a

when they came out with the 480 the 325 HP was the factory

I used an LBT 350 gr. WFN in the .475 Freedom Arms
