I was looking at a "do it all" suppressor
for literally anything I wish to screw it on this side of a .50 BMG. I mean from .17 to .458. I also want one I can take apart myself and clean. (some you cannot, they are welded shut) I will be shooting plastic coated cast bullets through it no matter what the manufacturer says about it. Lawyers be damned. For a $1000 or more expense I require complete personal satisfaction.
I have found the Silencer Central "Banish 46" as a likely candidate. Does anyone of you fellows have one or have a buddy that has one. Good report? I figure the worst part is getting a bunch tied up in attaching adapters and such. I desire to build a special 100 yd. "suppressed weapons" range at a location I frequent, so not to disturb neighbors within earshot.
Hybrid 46
I have a SilencerCo Hybrid 46. Handles everything from 17 Remington to 458 Winchester. Can be direct thread, ASR mount, or a piston to use on a semi-auto pistol. I use mine on a 10mm Glock, 9mm Glock, AR's in 9mm, 6.5 Grendel, 223, 450 Bushmaster, 375 Stalker, and 300 BLK. Rifles and single shots in 300 Whisper, 7-08 and 375 H & H.
I wouldn't ever clean a centerfire suppressor. The more you shoot them, the better they work. Any concerns you may have about buildup, just run a magazine of high velocity through it (i.e. 223, 6.5, etc.).

Very confusing to me, Hybrid 46, Banish 46... I got it, the max. caliber is .46.
I know the SilencerCo is good. The Silencer Central Banish has a 4" section you can remove too for a shorter/lighter can. I don't know much about it though. Other than it's $1100.

On the suppressors that have the removable section, you sacrifice a lot when going to a shorter version. Volume = Efficiency
Yeah I think the idea is to drop 4" off if you
are using it for small calibers or handgun applications. drops it to 8" long. I'm still new to suppressors and having had to scrape crap from rimfire units I like the idea of being able to take it apart and even manufacturing or modding new guts for it. The tube is the actual unit in that application.
However, I really value your experiences and any deviations on my part usually are motivated just to be different, and see. lol I really liked the unit on your AR9. Mine has too short a barrel (4") and/or the handguard is too close for easy gripping. I have to use a blast can to extend it to the end. I can't even mount a good hand stop (the slots and can don't jive well) and sure don't want to pop a hand or lose a finger! The handguard is too small diameter to fit a typical suppressor inside it. But it's a cute little thing.
