Kase, or Gary: any recommendations on a shell holder for
the butt stock of an 870?
Simply rugged makes some but they are high quality
and the price reflects it. Worth the money as it's made to last a lifetime. The nylon Uncle Mikes or Koplin stuff is crap. The underwear elastic goes limp in a year or two. Crawls up the stock under recoil too. Neoprene looks better but rots quickly.
Lace up leather lasts two lifetimes if take care of.
On my single shots I use the cheap ones ..
I superglue them to the stock so they won't move around and I tighten up the elastic so the shells won't fall through. Quick way is the staple gun .. pull the elastic down smaller and staple it. Don't want to do that on a good gun stock!

The car or truck on trips ,kicked like a mule until I put a recoil pad on it.
